Christmas Day

I hope everybody is enjoying the festive season! Every year I spend my day between my husband's family home and my grand parent's house, with twice the yummy food and twice the lovely company. I do love christmas :)

So winter has finally reached the UK, bringing with it soggy leaf covered pavements, rain speckled windows, the long, dark nights and worst of all, the kind of cold that gets right into your bones.

My stepdad is a camera junkie and luckily for me he's a generous one. Ever since I first started taking pictures he's been letting me borrow his photography equipment, most recently his Canon 20d.

Although last night wasn't quite the 5th of November, my family got together at my grandparents house as we do every year for a bonfire and fireworks. Luckily we managed not to burn anything down this year!

So I have this friend who has the most most adorable two daughters ever and who has been making me insanely broody since I met her because her family is just so impossibly sweet. Usually I'm banned by Amber (the oldest) from taking photographs, but on this one occasion she let me. I was very honoured.

Abbey Farm - Sunday

While I love to grumble about light pollution because it makes me sound as if I have even the vaguest clue about astrophotography and stargazing, I have to admit that it makes the prettiest colours.

On Sunday morning I got up extra early in the hope of catchng the Abbey in this morning light, but alas, I was defeated by a gate. So I got these instead.
